CARTHAGE- Robert Lee Tinsley Sr. 76, died peacefully on Tuesday, evening, May 21, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse.
Per his wishes, he will be cremated.
He was born on March 24, 1948, in Washington DC to the late Albert & Elsie (Fitzgerald) Tinsley.
Robert joined the United States Army in 1965 at the age of seventeen. He served three tours in Vietnam before his honorable discharge in 1974. After his service in the Army, Robert went on to work as a security officer in a variety of places, most notably at Calvert Memorial Hospital in Maryland, where he worked for over 25 years.
Robert enjoyed playing cards, listening to music, watching movies, and riding his scooter. He also loved playing and spending time with his two dogs, Buddy and Angel.
Robert is survived by his loving companion of twenty-three years, Mary O’Connor, Natural Bridge; and his sons, Robert (Debra) Tinsley of Maryland, and Paul (Lucy) Tinsley of Florida; his siblings, Timothy Tinsley of Maryland, Constance Moyers of Maryland, and Susan Najarian of Delaware; a granddaughter, Paige Tinsley; and his beloved dogs, Buddy, and Angel.
He is predeceased by his parents, Albert and Elsie.
