Stephen C. Richardson

CARTHAGE- Stephen Richardson, 59, of State Route 3, passed peacefully early on Saturday morning, October 28, 2023, at his home under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County.

A Graveside Service will be held on November 14, 2023, at 11:00 am in the Black River Cemetery in Black River, NY.

Stephen was born on August 4, 1964, in Watertown to the late Warren and Eileen (Eveleigh) Richardson. He graduated from General Brown Jr. Sr. High School in 1983. Stephen married Jane Grosse in 1985 in Great Bend.

Stephen worked as a machine operator for Taylor Concrete for 33 years, up until his retirement. He was also a volunteer firefighter for the Pillar Point Fire Station.

Stephen enjoyed cooking, playing shuffleboard with his friends, watching his hunting shows, and listening to music. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed working in his garden, hunting, fishing, riding his four-wheeler, and showing off his amazing barbequing skills. His greatest joys in life were spending time with his family and friends, talking to his grandchildren on the phone, and cooking the most incredible Thanksgiving dinner for all his loved ones.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jane; his daughter, Alicia (Montey) Jones of Texas; his grandchildren, Nicole, and Robert Jones; his sister, Denise Richardson of Sackets Harbor; his aunt, Linda Weaver of Florida; his uncles, Paul (Mary Lou) Eveleigh of Groton, and Bill (Alicia) Bell of Brownville; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Taco.

He is predeceased by his parents and his son, Stephen T. Richardson.
