Anthony E. Murray

Anthony Eugene Murray, 66, formerly of Cape Vincent, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 13th, 2023, at the Carthage Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing where he resided.

Calling Hours will be held on Friday, January 26, 2023, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, located at 500 State Street in Carthage, NY 13619. A Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of the Funeral Home.  He will be laid to rest in the spring.

Anthony was born to the late Walter & Leona (Yerdon) Murray on January 14th, 1957, in Watertown, NY. He graduated from General Brown High School in 1975.  He married Stella House.

In his earlier years, he worked for the Village of Chaumont. He was a Mechanic at Fort Drum. Anthony retired early due to a medical condition from Netto Fire Equipment in Watertown, where he would travel to inspect and repair fire extinguishers.

Anthony is survived by his children, a daughter, Toni Murray and her companion Jeremy Parks, of Watertown; a daughter, Amber (Dave) Hernandez, Virginia; and a son, Andrew Murray, Florida; his siblings, Pearl Race, Henderson; Purley Simpson Jr., Dexter; Michael Murray and Roxanne Steele, Adams. He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren and 3-great-grandchildren and several special nieces and nephews.

Anthony is predeceased by his parents Walter & Leona Murray, his step-parents, Purley & Hanna Murray Simpson, a sister, Linda Gregory Murray, and a daughter, Mary Murray.

He loved his motorcycles, working on cars, his rock-n-roll music, and spending time with his family and friends with his smart alec personality.
