COPENHAGEN - William J. Eisel, 55, Washington St, died early Saturday morning at his hunting camp in the Town of Pitcairn.
Born at the United States Army Hospital in Frankfurt, Germany on May 27, 1961, the son of John & Gail Daniels Eisel. He attended school in Copenhagen, before enlisting in the United States Navy, where he served from 1978 - 1984. He married Lisa Thompson at the St. Mary's Church in Copenhagen in 1980. Bill was employed as an HVAC maintenance technician for the Directorate of Public Works on Ft. Drum. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and playing pool and darts. He was a member of the Jay Hawkers Hunting Club in Pitcairn and the Fort Apache Hunting Club, McDonough, NY. He was also a member of the Copenhagen Fire Department and the American Legion Bassett-Baxter Post #789, Carthage.
He is survived by his children, Christopher Eisel, Watertown and Jason Eisel, and his grand-dog, Ziggy, Copenhagen, along with his sister, Katherine Mulvaney, Carthage and his brother, Karl Eisel, Texas.
Arrangements are being handled by the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening, November 3, 2016 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the Chapel at 10229 Washington St., Copenhagen, followed by a funeral service and Military Honors, with the Rev. Canon Samuel P. Lundy officiating.
There will be a Celebration of Life to be held on Friday, November 4th, at 5:00 PM, at the Hillbilly Inn, 34519 South Lake Rd, Carthage.
