Thomas W. "Spike" Illingsworth Sr.

CARTHAGE – Thomas W. “Spike” Illingsworth, Sr., 93, died peacefully on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown, NY. He was born in Carthage, NY, on July 10, 1933, the son of the late Alfred and Helen (Grzeskiewicz) Illingsworth. 

Thomas attended local schools; he served in the United States Army and worked as a manager for the Food Supply Warehouse at Fort Drum, NY. He married Lois H. Christy, who passed away on September 21, 2003. Thomas enjoyed hunting and fishing. 

His children survive him: Thomas W. Illingsworth, Jr., Watertown, and Joan Gillespie, Dexter; five stepchildren, Chris, Pat, Arlene, Mark, and David; his siblings, Marvin and Joyce; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Per his wishes, he will be laid to rest alongside his wife in St. James Catholic Cemetery in Carthage, NY.
