Sandra Ormiston

Carthage - Sandra Jean Ormiston, 75, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 8, 2026, while surrounded by her beloved family.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State Street, Carthage. A funeral service will be held in the Lundy Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 pm with Pastor Wayne Arnold officiating. Following the funeral service, Sandra will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery in Natural Bridge. Following the graveside service, the family will retire to the Elks Lodge for a Celebration of Life, gathering at 4:30 pm.

Sandra was born on March 9, 1951, in Carthage to the late Andrew and Betty (LaVancha) Susice. After graduating from Carthage Central School, Sandra went on to earn a professional certificate with a focus in secretarial work from Bryant & Stratton College in Buffalo, NY, through a long-distance program offered at SUNY Jefferson. Sandra spent a good portion of her working years as a Housing Specialist for Lewis County Opportunities Inc. in Watertown, where she retired after 28 years of service.

Sandra enjoyed the simple things that made life meaningful. She loved crocheting and making quilts, creating handmade gifts that her family will treasure for years. She was known for baking cookies to share with those she loved, and Christmas was always her favorite time of year. She found happiness in gardening, watching the birds, and caring for her flowers, especially her roses and tulips. These passions reflected the warmth, kindness, and care she showed throughout her life.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Richard; her children, Roy (Wanda) Davis of Theresa, Christine (Tommy) Bond of Carthage, and Holly (Clarence) Bunch of Michigan; her six grandchildren, Roy C. (Randi) Davis, Trisha V. (Matt) Farrell, Tosha M. (Adam) Clark, Magen “Casper” S. R. Nichols, Kane A.K. Bond, and Jacqulyn B. D. (Lil) Bond; her great-grandchildren, Owen T. D. Clark, Saphira M. G. Davis, Bailey V. M. Babcock, Royce J. D. Bond, and Ramesses A. R. Bond; her siblings, Sally I. Susice of Watertown, Andrew T. (Dorothy) Susice of Carthage, Richard D. Susice Sr. of North Carolina, Frank L. (Debra) Susice of Croghan, and Timothy J. (Tina) Susice of Watertown; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Betty; her siblings, Wayne P. Susice and Randy L. Susice; a sister-in-law, Anna Mae Susice; and a niece, Jennifer L. Seymour.
