Carthage - Ronald William VanLuven, Beloved Husband to Jessie L. VanLuven (Mickle) for 61 years. Ronald passed peacefully to his glory on April 15, 2024. Ronald was born on November 24, 1942, at Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown NY.

A Graveside Service will be held on June 8, 2024, at 11:00 am in the Fairview Cemetery in Carthage, NY where he will be laid to rest alongside his wife, Jessie.

He joined the United States Navy on October 19, 1960, and proudly served until November 22, 1963, with an honorable discharge. He was preceded to Glory by his wife Jessie, his son, Wesley, and his parents William and Genevieve. He is survived by his beloved sisters Carol McLallen and Jean Brunson, his sons Daniel, Bruce (Summer, his wife), and Dean, six grandsons, four great-grandchildren, many nieces, and nephews.

Ronald loved Jesus so much. He was a faithful worshiper. Ronald was a faithful pastor for 20 years. He preached at the Methodist Church of Saint Regis Falls, Brandon Center from 78-81, the Methodist Church of Copenhagen, and filled in for many different pastors at many other churches. Ronald owned and operated a family farm with his dad for many years. He was a carpenter who loved helping his neighbors, friends, and family with their home projects. He enjoyed staying busy and was a great handyman who was loved by everybody.

The family wishes to thank Cornerstone Hospice for their compassionate care. A special heart-warming gratitude to Gretchen Buchner for her love, kindness, and compassion for Ronald and his family.
