Roland “Ron” Reynolds, of Jennings, Florida, formerly of Copenhagen, New York, passed from this earth into eternity on February 8, 2026. Born on June 18, 1955, Roland spent his early years in the Sandy Creek and Pulaski, New York area.
He graduated from Pulaski Academy Central School in 1973. Shortly after, he joined the United States military and served a tour in Europe. Following his honorable discharge, he returned home to his family in Copenhagen, New York. Roland dedicated 43 years of service to the Fort Drum Department of Public Works, where he was affectionately known as the “plumbing gnome” until his retirement. He was a beloved brother, uncle, and friend who treated everyone he met like family. Whether renting pontoon boats in the summer for his nieces and nephews, hosting cookouts, or helping neighbors without hesitation, Roland gave generously of himself. He never asked what he would receive, and in return, he gave the best he had to offer.
Roland was predeceased by his mother, Carolyn Powlesland Greene; his father, Francis Reynolds; and his brother-in-law, Jim Phillips. He is survived by his siblings: Richard Reynolds and his wife, Denise, of Fulton, NY; Carol Phillips of Syracuse, NY; Debbie Smith and her husband, Gary Smith, of Carthage, NY; and Frances and Dean Wittwer of Canastota, NY.
He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Amy, Jamie, Susan (Ralph), James (Katie), Scott (Brianna), Randi (Patryck), and Nathan (Mary), as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews who loved him dearly. He leaves behind his faithful companion and partner in crime, Mango, whom he adopted in New Orleans in 2014.
Thank you to all his friends and adopted family at Futters 4 Oaks RV Park, White Springs, Florida. A celebration of Roland’s life will be held at the family’s discretion later this year.
Arrangements are with the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc., located at 500 State Street, Carthage, NY 13619. Online condolences can be made to www.lundyfuneralhome.com
