Richard Coseo

TYLERVILLE -- Richard Coseo, 90, died Friday, December 18, 2015 at home.
Born in Watertown on May 15, 1925, the son of Harold R. & Cora Wiley Coseo. He served in the United States Navy from 1943 - 1946; he was stationed at the Brooklyn Naval Yard and was a World War II Veteran. He married Ernestine Helen Hubbard on December 20, 1947. In 1953 he started his career with the New York State Troopers, retiring in 1973. He then went on to be the head of the Security Department for Mercy Hospital in Watertown until 1975; he then worked for the Collections Department at Marine Midland bank until fully retiring in 1987.
His wife Helen died on February 18, 1992. On May 5, 1993 he married Marie Anderson Thompson. She died on November 22, 2007.
Richard is survived by his sons and their wives; Michael & Laverne Coseo, Spirit Lake, Idaho, Joseph & Jenny Coseo, Adams, NY, Richard "Butch" & Janice Coseo, Sackets Harbor, his daughter and her husband, Theresa & Stewart Patchen, Tylerville and his daughter Mary Baker, Wilton, NY. He is also survived by his siblings; Francis Coseo, South Carolina, Edward and his wife Loretta Coseo, Stowe, Ohio, Thomas and his wife Sue Coseo, Northville Michigan, Sister Janet and Sister Veronica of Rochester, and his step son, Kenneth Thompson, Harrisville. He is survived by 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren.
Besides his wives, he is predeceased by his daughter Cathy LaGrow, his brother, Paul and his sister in law, Dorothy.
A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, December 23, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Copenhagen, followed by the burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc.; visitation will be held at the Chapel at 10229 Washington St., Copenhagen on Tuesday, December 22, from 2:00 - 4:00 PM & 7:00 - 9:00PM.
Memorial donations can be made to the Copenhagen Fire Department or St. Mary's Church.
