CARTHAGE Nancy Hall, 77, of 411 Sherman Street, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at her home.
Nancy was born in Gouverneur on October 1, 1941. She was the daughter of Margaret Shatraw Premo. She attended Gouverneur Central School and went on to work at Lallys Manufacturing in Herrings. She also worked at Northland Electric in Watertown for a time, and lastly, at Keddys Restaurant in West Carthage.
On March 24, 1962 she married Raymond E. Hall in Maryland. The couple were married for 50 years. Ray died on March 12, 2012.
She enjoyed her afternoon beer at the Carthage American Legion, as well as scratch-off tickets and carting her friends around to doctors appointments and to run various other errands. She was also known as the muffin-maker for the local area, recently making muffins for the Carthage football team.
She is survived by four sons; The Hall Boys, Ray (Cindy) Hall of Great Bend; Rod (JoDee) Hall of Carthage; Brad (Kim) Hall of Carthage; and Jud (Brenda) Hall of Whitesboro; three stepchildren, Ron R. (Deena) Hall of Carthage; Carol Carson of Great Bend; and Debbie (Doug) Marcellus of Harrisville; two sisters, Vivian (Ronald) Goodman of Florida; and Karen Simmons of Gouverneur; a brother, Bill (Janet) Premo of Gouverneur; three sisters-in-law, Doris Congdon of Carthage; Joyce (Larry) LaLonde of Hannawa Falls; and Gay Hall of Black River; and a brother-in-law, Wayne Hall of Gouverneur. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her husband, Raymond; a sister, Gladys Peanut Woodward; a sister-in-law, Isabelle Phillips; and a great-granddaughter, Kinsley Althea Grace Hall.
Nancy was a breast cancer survivor and a turkey bowl honoree.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 11-2 PM at Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage. A Funeral Service will be held immediately following the calling hours on Saturday at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of the funeral home. Burial will be held at a later date in Fairview Cemetery, Carthage.
