CARTHAGE- Nancy Elizabeth (Rushlow) Campany,78, passed away peacefully early on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024, while at Samaritan Keep Home where she had been a resident for a short time. Nancy was born on May 26, 1946, in Carthage, NY; the daughter of the late Gilbert & Elizabeth (Noyes) Rushlow.
A Graveside Committal Service will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024, at 1 PM in the New St. James Catholic Cemetery in Carthage, NY, with the Rev. Canon Samuel P. Lundy, officiating. A Celebration of Life will follow at the VFW located at 668 West End Avenue in Carthage following the burial.
Nancy married Raymond Campany on June 13th, 1964, at the First Baptist Church in Carthage, the couple were married for 51 years. Raymond passed away on July 5, 2015.
She wore many hats throughout her life. Her passion was sewing and knitting. She worked at Bradley’s Military Store for several years. She also operated an alterations store at the Exchange on Fort Drum. Her main passion was spending time with her grandchildren and children. Nancy loved Bingo and enjoyed spending time with her friends.
Nancy is survived by her children and their spouses, her estranged son, Jeffrey and Marcia Campany, Carthage; her son Mark Campany, a daughter Robin and Clint Barlow, Carthage; along with 6-grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Dorothy (David) Moses, Carthage; Rosemary Bauter, Natural Bridge; and Robert Rushlow, Carthage and several special nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, Raymond Campany Jr., her son, Adam Campany, March 2024; one great-grandchild, Aubrey Barlow, three brothers, Jerry Rushlow, Larry Rushlow, Richard Rushlow, and one sister, Genevieve (Lloyd Rhone), one daughter in law, Marie Campany. Nancy will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
