Glen Park- Mary Lou Coyle passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 14th, 2025, at the Carthage Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation at the age of 89.

Per her wishes, there will be no public services; her burial will be held privately by her family in the Grove Cemetery in LaFargeville.

Born on October 30, 1935, in Gouverneur, NY, Mary Lou was the daughter of the late Clarence and Ruth (Whitford) Schell.

She graduated from Gouverneur Central School in 1953. Marylou had a career as a phone operator, starting with the NY Telephone Company and retiring from Verizon. Mary Lou married Earl Bigarel, the marriage ended in divorce, and she later married the late James Coyle.

She is survived by her companion, Francis “Jess” Jenness of Glen Park, NY; her son, Michael (Edna) Bigarel of Fowler, NY; a son-in-law, Gary Williams of Illinois; and her three grandchildren.

Mary Lou was a dedicated member of the Brownville American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Outside of her involvement with the Auxiliary, she found joy in playing cards, spending her summers at the cottage on Lake Bonaparte, and traveling with Jess.

She is predeceased by her parents, along with her daughter, Sherrie Williams, who died in 2020, and a sister, Beverly Phillips in 2012.
