MARY E. TOWNE

Gouverneur – Mary E. Towne, 78, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026, while at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh, NY.

Per her wishes, there will be no funeral services. She will be laid to rest in the spring at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Pleasant View Cemetery.

Mary was born in Middleton, Connecticut, to the late Wilber Francis and Lorrane (Houghton) Campbell. She graduated from Towle High School in Newport, New Hampshire. Mary spent many years working as an assistant manager for R.T. Vanderbilt Holding Company. Mary married Donald Towne on July 20, 1985, in Fowler, NY.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Donald Towne; her children, William Pink, Heather Pink, Morgan Pink, Hattie Pink, and Jennifer Callicot; along with her stepchildren, Shelly Amo, Sherry White, Michael Towne, and Stacy Monette; along with several grandchildren.

Mary enjoyed crocheting, snow skiing, waterskiing, hunting, especially bow hunting, square dancing, and playing cards.
