Lynn R. Schack, Sr.

CARTHAGE – Lynn Robert Schack Sr., of Sherman St., died peacefully surrounded by his friends at his camp on Saturday, May 23, 2026, in the town of Brantingham, where he enjoyed hunting for many years.

He was 76 years old and the youngest of the 5 children of Clarence and Catherine Schack. Lynn was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy, and his son, Lynn Jr.

His 3 children survive him: Mark & Polly Schack, Lowville, NY; Dawn & Stephen Peck, Carthage; and Alan Schack, Norwich, NY. His 12 grandchildren, Catherine, Hayle, Caitlyn, Elisha, Kristina, Jonathan, Jensen, Troy, Noah, Joshua, Slater, Loryn; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Lynn graduated from Carthage High School Class of 1968 and was a Veteran in the US Army Reserve. He was a member of the VFW and the Croghan American Legion. Lynn later retired from the state where he had plowed snowy roads in the winter and laid black top, during the summer months.

Lynn will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
