CARTHAGE- Lisa M. Cooper, 63, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at her home in Carthage, surrounded by her family and under the care of Hospice of Jefferson County. Born on March 26, 1963, in Gouverneur to the late Robert and Nancy (Todd) LaPlant, Lisa graduated from Beaver River Central School in 1981. 

She dedicated over 30 years of service to the Lewis County Department of Social Services in Lowville, New York.  Lisa was a longtime memeber of the Goose Pond Fishing & Game Club in Harrisville, NY. 

She is survived by her husband, Jim; her stepson, Nolan Cooper; and her siblings, Deanne Martin and Christopher LaPlant. She was predeceased by her brother, Craig LaPlant.
