A memorial service will follow the calling hours at 7:00 pm in the Lundy Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Arnold officiating. Ken, the first-born to Kenneth C. Reed Sr. and Deborah (Solon) Reed, began his life in the quaint town of Antwerp, NY on October 19, 1973. Nestled in the heart of the North Country, Antwerp provided a picturesque backdrop for Ken’s childhood adventures. He graduated from Indian River Central School in 1992.
Ken worked a variety of jobs in the North Country, but finally found his home working for Lawman Heating and Cooling in Sackets Harbor. He was a hard-worker; always willing to lend a helping hand. He had a strong work ethic, but perhaps what defined him the most was his passion for the outdoors and his love for hunting, which started as a young boy and grew alongside him. Ken always held a deep connection with nature; and was always happiest when he was surrounded by nature and his hunting buddies.
Ken married Debbie on November 2, 2024, though their story started long before that. They spent nearly 22 years side by side before their official marriage.
Ken is survived by his beloved wife, Debbie Reed; his children, Hunter Reed, Kennedy Reed, Sebastian Hudson, Kylie (Isaac) Haines, Kaci (Ryan) Hall, and Kara Hall; his siblings, Jeremy Reed of Georgia, Lindsey Reed of Colorado, and Kelly Reed of Lowville; six grandchildren, Tanner, ShaeLynn, Liam, Cooper, Layla, and Maverick; his parents, Kenneth C. Reed Sr. and Deborah Reed; his mother-in-law, Lois Petrie; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and so many special friends.
He is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Eugene and Mary Jane Solon; his paternal grandparents, Ceylon and Virginia Reed; and his father-in-law, Edmond “Butch” Petrie; and a grandson, Maddox Haines.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to invite everyone to bring their favorite dish to be passed at the American Legion Bassett Baxter Post Number 789, located at 415 West St, Carthage, NY 13619, following the service.
