Karen F. Mono Tiff
CARTHAGE, N.Y. - Karen F. Mono Tiff, 63, of 11697 Zecher Rd., diedTuesday evening, July 14, at her home under the care of her family and Hospice of Lewis County.
Born in the former West Carthage Hospital on March 6, 1952, the daughter of Joseph and Edna Schermerhorn. She graduated from Carthage Central High School.
She worked for the former Bomax in Watertown and the Carthage Area Hospital. She was also a housekeeper for Fort Drum and for the Pleasant Night Inn Hotel in West Carthage.
She married her longtime companion Harold Tiff on Jan. 21, 2015, in South Carolina.
Karen is survived by her children; Tammy Mashaw, Carthage, Scott Mono, South Carolina, Cory Tiff, South Carolina, Brandie Bray, South Carolina, Kylie Haynes, South Carolina and Ryan Tiff, Carthage, as well as her step children; Kim Segar, Big Flats, NY, Lance Tiff, Corning, Julia Butts, Camden, Darren Genito and Valarie Leaf; her siblings, Margy Smith, Carthage, Florence Nickles, Carthage and Doreene Ayers, Harrisville; 20 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her siblings, George "Peanut" Mono, Robert Mono, Furney Mono, Frank Mono, Richard Mono, Shirley Widrick and Penny Sanders.
A memorial service will be held at the Natural Bridge Fire Hall at a date and time yet to be determined. Burial will take place in Sunnyside Cemetery, Naumburg.
Arrangements are being handled by the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage.
