Carthage - Joseph L. LaDuc, 73, passed away on May 6, 2025, while at Lewis County General Hospital.
Per his wishes, there will be no public services.
Joseph was born on July 18, 1951, in Gouverneur to the late Frederick and Anna (Hewitt) LaDuc. He graduated from Harrisville Central School in 1970. Shortly after graduation, Joseph was drafted in the United States Army to serve in the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge, he went on to work as a machinist for Fort Drum for many years, where he eventually retired.
Joseph married Candy Mono on July 27, 1974, at the St. Francis Catholic Church in Harrisville. They were happily married for 45 years before Candy passed away in August of 2019.
Joseph was an avid fisherman. When he wasn’t spending time with his family and friends, Joseph could almost always be found with a fishing pole in his hand.
He is survived by a daughter, Joanna (James) Manchester; two grandchildren, Paige and Jack; his siblings, John (Margo) LaDuc, Robert (Lela) LaDuc, and Suzanne (Tom) Campany.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Candy; a son, Keith LaDuc, who passed in 2016; and his parents, Frederick and Anna.
