John Twombly

CARTHAGE John E. Twombly, 50, 404 Emjay Way, died Friday, January 11, 2019 at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse.
Born at the Carthage Area Hospital on February 6, 1968, the son of the late Everett & Irene Jock Twombly. He graduated from Carthage Central High School with the Class of 1987. He was employed at the Ames Department store in Carthage, before going to work for Farneys Home and Building Center; where he was employed for the past 15 years.
He married Stacy Nevills on September 19, 1992 at St. Marys Church in Copenhagen. He was a former member of the Missing Link Snowmobile Club and he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved having a good time with his family and friends.
John is survived by his wife Stacy, his son and daughter in law, Dakota & Tabitha Twombly, Carthage and his son, Corey Twombly and his fiance, Michelle, along with 3 grandchildren; Isabella, Gavin and Jaxson. Also surviving are his sisters; Debie Scott, Gouverneur and Sarah Twombly, Carthage, his mother and father in law, Frank and Shirley Nevills, his sisters in law and their spouses; Sherry and Glen House, Kandi and Carl Newton and Tammey Rebb and Ron Breton, along with several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his siblings; David, Larry and Kathy.
He was an avid NASCAR fan, die hard Cowboys fan and Atlanta Braves Fan.
Calling hours for John will be held from 3:00 6:00 PM on Monday, January 14, 2019 at the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage, with a celebration of life at 6:00 PM. A memorial reception will be held immediately following at the Carthage American Legion, Post #789. Burial will be in the spring.
Johns family is very appreciative of the support they have received from his many friends. They have requested that any memorial donations be made directly to the Funeral Home to help offset the costs associated with his sudden passing.
