Tylerville – Gloria B. Martin, 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, September 9, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Gloria was born in Theresa, NY, on September 27, 1941, the daughter of the late Bower Maynard and Ellen May (Shattuck) Maybee. She attended Theresa High School and later graduated from the Watertown School of Commerce.

Throughout her life, Gloria was a dedicated and hardworking woman. She began her career with Jefferson County Civil Defense and later worked at Montgomery Ward, where she met her husband, Keith. After the store closed, she worked in the office at Knowlton Brothers until starting her family in 1970. Gloria later spent 36 years working for Renzi Food Service before retiring in May 2020. She took great pride in her work and the many friendships and memories she made throughout those years.

Gloria married Keith C. Martin on August 19, 1967, and together they began building a life and family that would always remain at the center of her world. Gloria found happiness in the simple things and especially treasured time spent with the people she loved. She enjoyed family gatherings, stock car races, camping, and spending time near the water. One of her favorite pastimes was sitting by the water and watching the ships pass by. She could happily spend hours enjoying the view and the peacefulness of being near the water.

Gloria also greatly valued her friendships. Her weekly Thursday lunches with her friends were something she looked forward to and rarely wanted to miss. Those lunches became a special tradition filled with conversation, laughter, and the comfort of friendships she treasured.

Her family was incredibly important to her, and she cherished the time and memories they shared together. Gloria also had a special love for her granddogs, Kye and Luca, who brought her plenty of companionship and happiness. Whether it was a family gathering, a camping trip, time spent by the water, or simply being together at home, it was the people and animals she loved who made those moments special.

Gloria is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Larry) Cassoni of Carthage; her son, Kyle K. (Jaime) Martin of Copenhagen; two stepsons, Todd M. Martin of Arizona and Chad (Renee) Martin of Carthage; three grandchildren, Kaitlyn A. Cassoni, Christopher K. Cassoni, and Hailey L. Martin; and her nephews, Dean (Alison) Johnson and Brian (Lindsay) Johnson.

She was predeceased by her parents, Bower and Ellen Maybee; her sister, Loretta A. Johnson; and her husband, Keith, in 1979.

Gloria will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her hardworking nature, and the happiness she found in life’s simple moments. Those who loved her will carry with them countless memories of time spent together and will deeply miss her presence in their lives.

Per her wishes, services and burial in Hillside Cemetery in Champion will be held privately by her family.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., located at 500 State Street in Carthage, NY 13619. Condolences in her memory may be made online through the funeral home.
