Diane D. Bush, 80, formerly of Leray Street Watertown, died on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at the Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. She was born on May 25, 1938 in Gouverneur, NY to the late Dr. Douglas & Elizabeth Bariteau Overacker.
She graduated from Antwerp High School in 1955. She married Zimri H. Bush on January 12, 1957 in the Antwerp Methodist Church. Mr. Bush died on April 17, 2002.
She attended Jefferson Community College where she got her Nurses Aide Certification. She was employed for various hospitals in the area. She worked at AMES department store earlier in her career.
She is survived by several children; Gregory Bush and Fianc Jennifer Constance, Dexter, NY; Denise (Mike) Comins, Chaumont; and Zina (Donnie) Overton, Columbus, Georgia; and a brother, Gary (Kim) Overacker, Las Vegas, Nevada; and 8- grandchildren, Tim, Jessica, Meghan, Chris, Kaylie, Amanda, Amber, Kassi, Ashley, and Shawna and 11-great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by a daughter, Jody Carroll, who died on September 22, 2015.
Diane enjoyed knitting and crocheting and in her early days she enjoyed hunting with her late husband and son.
There will be no public calling hours. A graveside service will be held in the spring in the Riverside Cemetery in Gouverneur, NY. Arrangements are being handled by the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc., located at 500 State Street in Carthage, NY 13619.
