David A. Mono Jr, 70 of Carthage, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 13th, 2025 at his home, surrounded by loving family under the care of his wife and Hospice of Jefferson County.

David was born on July 1st, 1954 in Carthage, NY, son of the late David and Catherine (Hamilton) Mono.

After completing his high school education at Carthage High School, David worked as a sheet metal worker for several years with J Mallette Sheet Metal out of Carthage. David took pride in all things he did but most importantly his passion for hot rods and working on cars was the thing that fueled his soul. David had an incredible talent with body work and worked on many cars over the years.

David married his true love and other half Lisa Gibeau on November 14th, 2010.

David is survived by his loving wife Lisa Mono; daughters Chaya (Martin) Charles, Ashley (Adam) Qualls, Chanel (Douglas) Russell, and Amber (Clayton) Blake; grandchildren, Julian Charles, Ashlyn and Asher Qualls, Mackenzie (Gaige Orton) Reynolds, Gina and Gabriella Blake. David is also survived by two sisters Patricia Smith and Tina Hinckley; a mother in law Patricia Gibeau and two brother in laws; Luke Gibeau and Danny Gibeau.

He is predeceased by his parents and his brother Phillip. He is also predeceased by his father-in-law Donnie Gibeau Sr.; two brothers-in-law, Donald Gibeau Jr and Dave Gibeau; and a sister-in-law Catherine Bonner.

To know David was to know his generosity and kind heart. He loved his family, his garage, NASCAR, and racing. He was also an amazing cat dad to four fur babies; Ming, Sam, Luna, and Bear.

At David’s request, no service will be held.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Hospice of Jefferson County for their care and compassion.
