Carole’s life was a testament to love, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her greatest legacy, her family.

She married the love of her life, Larry Doyle, on September 26, 1964, at St. Mary’s Church in Copenhagen. Yes, it started with four children but throughout the years she shared her love with those who needed it the most. As grandchildren were added to her family, she affectionately gained her new name “gram”, a title she was extremely proud of.

Carole’s home was often referred to as the “Doyle Community Center,” a place where anyone in need of a mother’s love could find comfort, kindness, and support. Her generosity extended beyond bloodlines, touching the lives of many who crossed her path. Those fortunate enough to know Carole will remember her unwavering support, her warm smile, and her ability to make everyone feel like family. She never took a moment for granted and lived life with gratitude and joy, looking forward to each day.

As the owner of “The Town Talk” restaurant for 20 years, she enjoyed sharing her love for people and great food. Carole served as a dedicated member of the Copenhagen Fire Department Auxiliary for 51 years. She also enjoyed cooking and solving puzzles.

She is survived by her children Scott (Cindy) Doyle, Teresa (Kevin) Terrillion, Shelly (Brian) Smith of Copenhagen, Amy (Mark) Eddy of Black River; her sisters Lorie (David) LaLone of Adams and Donna Thomas of Henderson; and sisters-in-law, Jo Annne Clarke, Amelia Fazio, Donna Wood, and Debbie (Biff) Green; and a brother-in-law, Maurice (Jane) Doyle; and many nieces and nephews.

Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Jodi Doyle, Jason (Sara) Doyle, Justin Woodruff (Jenna), Logan Eddy (Chelsea), Lauren (Robert) Groff, Adam (Keely) Terrillion, and Madison (Sam) Widrick; and her great-grandchildren: Dixon, Mikayla, and Skylar Doyle; Jackson and Jillian Woodruff; Addilyn Spring and Easton Groff; and Harper and Hadley Terrillion.

Carole is predeceased by her beloved husband of 61 years, Larry Doyle; her siblings Keith (Lucy) Clarke, Ronald Clarke, Terry (Jean) Clarke, Jackie Weaver, Joel Fyderek; a sister-in-law, Nancy Jones; brothers-in-law, Bruce Thomas, Frank Fazio, and Charlie Wood.

Carole’s love for family is her greatest legacy—a gift that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Words cannot express the depth of our loss, but we take comfort in knowing that we have been blessed in ways most people will never experience.

Donations in Carole’s memory may be made to St. Mary’s Church, c/o 327 West Street Carthage, NY 13619 or the Rutland Fire Company, 28502 NYS-126, Black River, NY 13612
