Barbara A. "Barb" Allington

CARTHAGE- Barbara A. Allington, 73, of Fulton Street, died on Thursday morning, January 23, 2020 at her home.
Barbara was born on September 28, 1946 in Elmira, NY to the late Ralph W. Hendershott & Teresa M. Svokos. She graduated from Horseheads High School and went on to attend Jefferson Community College. In 2012 she retired from Fort Drum after 28 years of dedicated service as a Management Analyst. She is survived by three children, Tery Allington, Carthage; Daniel & George Allington-Turner & Bradley Jorgensen, Antwerp; and Tracy Allington, Leominster, Massachusetts; a grandchild, Ryanna Allington; as well as a sister, Donna Hendershott, Elmira.
Barbara was a member of the St. James Catholic Church in Carthage, the Carthage Fire Department as well as the Carthage Area Hospital Auxiliary. She also served on the Wilna-Champion Transportation Association.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 27, 2020 from 2:00PM-4:00PM. A memorial service will take place in the Chapel of the funeral home at 4:00 PM with The Rev. Canon Samuel P. Lundy officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family at Woodlawn Cemetery in Elmira, NY. She will be buried alongside her mother and father. Donations in Barbara's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
