Mark Thomas Trombley, 62, passed away unexpectedly & suddenly at home on March 1, 2023.
Mark was born to the Late Barbara and Late Augustus “Roy” Trombley on September 26, 1960 in Ticonderoga NY. He attended Harrisville Central School and took the auto-mechanics class at Southwest Technical Center. He was raised and resided in Harrisville NY for 50+ years. He also lived in Brockton, MA as a child. He was proud of his French-Canadian heritage.
Mark worked for Gouverneur Talc Inc. now known as RT Vanderbilt Co. as an operator, driller, repairman, fill-in foreman, and other misc. jobs for 29+ years. He medically retired in 2008. He served as an altar boy as a child and was a part of The Knights of Columbus for many years. He owned and operated a family bar, Route 3 Diana NY, called Roy’s Place for a few years. He was a code enforcer for the Town of Pitcairn for a few years. Throughout his life, he worked for The Town of Diana as a wing operator, Lewis County Opportunities, KV Line Security Guard, Mr. Grant, Ryan’s Sawmill & Maple Syrup, Long Ear Drilling Pierrepont, NY; Juniper Hills Ski Resort, Trustee Councilman for the village of Harrisville, Ray's Service Center. He was also a part of the Harrisville Volunteer Fire Dept. in the 1980’s and he also reset bowling pins at the Methodist Church when they had a lane or two under the church. He helped clear the land off where Harris Courts now stands when they were in the development. He also did many odd & end jobs for many different organizations.
In 1976, While in school, Mark met the love of his life Lisa Ryan. They became high school sweethearts. Mark married Lisa, his high school sweetheart on June 13, 1981 at Saint Francis Solanus Church in Harrisville NY with Father Robillard as the officiant. They were married for 41 years. Together, they had two daughters Danielle Ellen (Jessmer) & Dana Elisha (Whitley).
In 1981, he was in a horrible snowmobile accident where a car had hit him. He was read his last rights, and he beat all the odds that were given to him. He was a very strong man, and always has been no matter the struggle he faced.
Mark was known for helping others and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need. He knew what it was like to have a hard time in life and always wanted better for everyone he met. He loved life and loved his wife, children and grandchildren more than anything. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and the many friends he had. He loved to hunt. He also enjoyed fishing with his daughters. He also built the house his wife and he resided in and took pride in it. He loved to teach people how to build, or fix things.
He lived by the motto “If it’s meant to happen, it will, you just have to be patient”, “You have to stay positive even in a negative situation” and “Good things come to those who wait”.
Mark wanted his wife, children and his 5 precious grandchildren to know he loved them all very much. He wants each and every one of you to carry his memory with his famous stories he told and the memories you have.
Surviving are his wife Lisa Trombley. His Daughters & Son-in-laws, Danielle (John) Jessmer, and Dana (Chorey) Whitley. His Grandchildren, Aliyah Whitley, Uriah Whitley, Jeremiah Whitley, Makiah Whitley, and Taleitha “Ti-Ti” Whitley. A Father-in-law & Mother-in-law, Leland & Carol Ryan all of Harrisville NY. A Sister-in-law & Brother-in-law, Sherri (Jim) Monnat Croghan, NY. Brothers, Roy (Patti) Trombley of Texas, Derek (Lisa Puffer) Trombley Chaumont NY, and a sister Susan Trombley (Ed Rebb) Carthage NY. Many nieces, nephews and cousins. Special Cousins, John Martin, Heather (Erik) Andresen, Whitney Clement. Special Friends, Tom (Shammie) Robinson, Mike (Val) Bigness, Janessa & Danielle Oakes, Pat Warren, and Dennis (Nan) Laparr.
He is predeceased by his mother and father (Augustus) Roy Trombley, Barbara (Tilley) Trombley. Grandparents Emille & Hazel (Houle) Tromblay, Thomas & Cora (Delorge) Tilley. His sister, Deborah (Trombley) Juknevicius. A brother-in-law, Anthony Juknevicius. A special cousin, Bonnie (Trombley) Martin. Aunt’s & Uncle’s, Shirley (Tilley) Trombley, Arlene (Tilley) Pepper, Patricia Trombley, Edna Trombley, Emily Trombley, Geroldine Trombley, Wilfred Trombley, Edmund Trombley, Clifford Trombley, John Trombley, David Trombley, Donald Trombley, Alfred Trombley, Floyd Trombley, Wilmer Trombley, Wrandy Trombley, Raymond Tilley, Roger Duchesne, Thomas “Roger” Tilley, and Donald “Stub” Pepper.
Per his wishes, there will be no public calling hours, a Celebration of Life Gathering with family and his friends will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at 11:00 am at the Harrisville Fire Hall, located at 14226 Church St, Harrisville, NY 13648.
